Mayor Ashley Curry used the summer months to emphasize community service, appreciation  for  volunteers,  public  safety  and  family-oriented   activities  in Vestavia Hills.  Her May message  highlighted  the   importance of  recognizing residents  who   have   devoted   years   to  civic   service  and    encouraged   a new generation to continue that tradition. In June, the mayor focused  attention on first responders and community safety while also promoting  Father's Day activities and preparations   for  summer  events.   These  efforts  reflected an understanding that a healthy community depends not only on  government services but also on the people who volunteer, respond during emergencies and contribute to neighborhood life.

July brought another opportunity for community  participation. Mayor  Curry highlighted   I Love America Night and   Fourth   of  July     activities    while encouraging residents to reflect on freedom and the responsibilities that come with citizenship. Community celebrations can play an important role in bringing families and neighbors together, particularly when they are organized around shared civic values.

In  August,   Curry  continued  emphasizing   community   life   as  Vestavia  Hills prepared for the new school year. She also discussed VET FEST Freedom 250 and National Senior Citizens Day, recognizing  both veterans and older residents as important parts of the community.

Her activities during these months illustrate a style of leadership centered on connection: honoring people who serve, encouraging volunteerism, supporting families and recognizing the contributions of different generations.
